Please join us for a stimulating discussion based on a podcast by Attachment Expert and psychologist Dr. Dan Hughes, author of several books including "Attachment-Focused Parenting".  We will listen to the 50 minute podcast as a group, and discuss along the way.  Topics covered will include questions such as:
  • Is attachment always an issue in adoption?  Can non-adopted kids have attachment issues?
  • Does sensory processing impact attachment?
  • How do I know if my child has attachment issues? How do I know if our attachment is progressing?
  • How does my own attachment style impact how I parent my child?
  • What are tips for promoting attachment in infants and toddlers?
  • Is it okay to leave my child in the care of someone else? Will it harm our attachment and what can I do if it is unavoidable?
  • What is the difference between attachment and identity issues in adoption?
If you would like to listen to the podcast ahead of time, you can find it here at the Creating A Family website: http://www.creatingafamily.org/radioshow/393.html. Click on the November 10, 2010 show with Dan Hughes.  You can also download it from I-Tunes by searching for Creating A Family.
